After weeks of learning and discussing, students showcase their knowledge

This summer, our academics team hosted a rich variety of virtual workshops, lessons, and discussions. Our student-athletes prepared for their SATs, learned to code, had conversations about what to expect in high school and college, started building college lists, and learned about social justice movements. We’d like to share some of the culminating projects about social justice completed by our participants.

Over the course of the summer, our students and academics team spoke about different social justice topics including Black Lives Matter, MeToo, immigrant rights and policy, and LGBTQIA+ Rights.  The student-athletes learned about the origins of each movement, what it looks like today, and how students can help. Afterward, Row New Yorkers chose a movement then created artwork, presentations, and essays to show their teammates and help them learn more about the topics.

Check out their projects below. We hope you’ll enjoy their creative, informative, and beautifully designed work.
