COVID took so much—goodbyes with friends, New York State Championships, and the fall season we worked so hard for. By my senior year, I didn’t have the chance to row in college. Instead, I applied to CUNY and, through a friend, learned about an opening at Row New York. I applied and got the job.

Returning to the boathouse as a coach felt surreal. At New York State Championships, watching the crew I coached launch, I teared up. Everything I thought I’d lost was in front of me again. The void I didn’t realize I carried was finally filled by rejoining Row New York.
