Hi everyone! I am Izzy, the Alumni and College Success Manager here at Row New York. If we have not already met, I am hoping we will soon! My job involves college preparation, college success, and alumni engagement. I work with all of our student-athletes and former student-athletes beginning in high school and beyond!
Summer 2020
This past summer was very unique where we had our summer program completely virtual! We hosted college workshops three days during the week and some of the topics included: rowing in college, information on HBCUs, writing your college essay, and SAT prep. We even received a visit from our friends at Williams College where we learned more about the school and their rowing program.
Fall 2020
I am looking forward to assisting our rising seniors this fall with their college applications and taking them on virtual college visits! I also can’t wait to hear from our incredible alumni who are beginning their very first year at college. Each year, we reach out to them when we send them care packages with snacks and other essentials. You can help us fill the care packages by clicking here to shop from this registry.
One of the coolest parts of my role is I get to work closely with Row New York’s incredibly gifted Alumni Committee to help build our alumni community. This year I will be working with co-chairs Jessica Leavy and Nicole Doyle along with our Committee Board Members Betty Cao, Kassandra Nevarez, Xander Fong and Elise Napack to host events and workshops to bring everyone the resources they need to succeed (or to just have fun :). Nicole Doyle hosts monthly Zoom sessions with topics such as race on a college campus, being a young person in 2020, body positivity and healthy relationships.
