Vicki Agoglia

I’m Vicki Agoglia, 52, a massage therapist for 17 years . I do Myofacial release massage which is a unique unwinding and healing emotionally and physically. I live in Nesconset, Long Island. I’ve been running for 20 years. Running is my life. I love the way I feel every time after running being with my friends having love and support always. My morning started off in the best way. Why I chose ROW NY — they’re helping kids out start their lives! We all need tools and support to get through life. I feel this is what ALL KIDS NEED IN ALL SCHOOLS!

Virginia Dodenhoff

Hey y’all! I’m Virginia Dodenhoff and I’m running the New York Half on behalf of Row New York!! I began rowing my freshman year at The Gunnery. I quickly became obsessed and continued my career at The University of Alabama. After graduation, I spent some time in Denver and coached at Mile High Rowing. Now, I’m back in NYC and on the Associate Board for Row New York.

There are two reasons I’m running the half: 1. I’m washed up and I needed an excuse to workout. 2. I have fallen in love with Row New York’s mission and I wanted to help make an impact. Rowing changed my life and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without the sport. Running the half is the least I can do to help inspire a new generation of rowers.

P.S. If you’re watching the race, be on the lookout for my dog, Mignon. She’s a huge Bernedoodle – you can’t miss her!

Grace Higgins

Hello! My name is Grace Higgins and I’m running for Row New York.
I started rowing my sophomore year of high school at Blair Academy. I developed a passion for the sport and have met lifelong friends and mentors through rowing.
I am now a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, however, I will be transferring after this Spring. I chose to run the NYC Half Marathon because running is a great cardio alternative to rowing and I will be home in New Jersey this Spring. Choosing to run for Row New York was easy because of my passion for rowing and the donations will be used to provide more resources to Row New York’s athletes.
Fun Fact: This is my first half marathon!

Janice Holzman

I am very excited to be running the New York City Half for Row New York. I am the VP of Development and Communications at Row New York. Initially, I was excited to work at Row New York because I really respected the way this organization structures the college access and college success aspects of its mission. I was a college instructor for several years and saw firsthand an unmet need for the kind of support that Row New York offers our student-athletes.

When I joined the Row New York team in 2019, my awesome colleague Jo encouraged me to sign up for a Learn to Row at my local rowing club. I was immediately hooked! As a competitive Masters rower I think I have gathered a pretty solid understanding of the ways that rowing can shape a person’s life. I am convinced there is something really special about Row New York’s mission and I believe it is unmatched in a city where there are many terrific youth-serving programs.

Finally, I must give a special shout out to my husband Anthony and my six-year-old daughter Carmela who not only tolerate my rowing (and running!) schedule but show up and cheer me on!

Kristine Tucker

Hi Everyone! I’m Kristine. I work at Row New York as the Individual Engagement Associate and am very excited to be running to support our programs! I am originally from São Paulo, Brazil, and was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I proudly call “the Lou” my hometown as that is where I was raised. I am a first-generation college graduate and hold a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Romance Languages with a concentration in Spanish from the University of Missouri or “Mizzou”. One of my favorite jobs was working with children and adults with disabilities as a Basic Water Safety Skills and Swim Instructor. My previous rowing experience includes rowing with St. Louis Rowing Club. I am an outgoing and adventurous person and love to explore different places, meet new people, and try diverse foods! Most of my downtime is spent running, hiking, and/ or reading.
