The Meadow Lake Challenge took place on a beautiful Saturday morning in June. It was the first time this year that we joined our different pods and programs for an event.  The event was a tremendous testament to the commitment of our staff, youth, and families.

Our youth athletes, their families, and alumni had an incredible time racing, talking, cheering, rowing, eating, and just hanging out in the sunshine. The results of the three duels are below. After the races and awards, staff and alumni jumped into boats for a quick row.

We were so delighted by the parents who expressed their gratitude for the work of our coaches and the support of our academic staff this past year. Several parents of seniors said that Row New York was one of the most influential parts of the athletes’ lives. Other parents spoke about the positive changes they’ve seen in their children over the last few weeks of being back on the water.

We’d like to recognize our coaches and academics staff for inspiring our youth to compete after so much time off the water and supporting them to do so every meter of the way.

The Meadow Lake Challenge was evidence to the Row New York community that we are on our way out of COVID and onto a new frontier. That with immense persistence,  inner strength, and support of each other, we have pulled through. We are still an immensely powerful and beautiful community that supports each other, works hard together, and has fun together.

To each and every one of you–we are part of something special.

Thank you for making it so!
