SHEA MINTER
Shea may not consider herself a good runner, but running became an important part of her life after college graduation. Living with lupus affected her ability to row and much more, but in 2020, she proved her resilience by completing her first and only half marathon in 2:30:16—after bootstrapping her own race when the DC Half was canceled. Though she’s faced setbacks, including missing another official race due to COVID-19, she remains determined. Her motto since her lupus diagnosis has been simple: I will not be fast, but I will finish strong!
Shea spent a year in NYC, during which joining Row New York became one of her best decisions, helping her find an incredible community. Though she’s currently away from the city, she deeply values the mission, the people, and the sport that gave her so much. Running this race is her way of giving back to rowing and the organization that made such an impact on her life.
