Amanda Pfabe

Amanda Pfabe, an alumna of Row New York was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  She began her rowing career in her sophomore year of high school when she joined Row New York in Queens. She started on the erg during the winter season and was ecstatic when she finally got on the water during the spring. Amanda says that rowing taught her the value of hard work and discipline that she has applied to her professional and academic efforts. 

After graduating high school, Amanda continued her rowing career at Harvard College. Amanda completed her degree in Economics and continued her education earning an MBA from Columbia Business School and MS in Cybersecurity Risk and Strategy from NYU School of Law and Tandon School of Engineering. 

Amanda aspires to have a positive impact on her communities. She currently resides in Washington, DC where she helps national security organizations implement the right technologies and processes to achieve their missions. Amanda also serves as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.

Maurice Scott Jr.

Born and raised in the city of Philadelphia, Maurice started rowing competitively in 2010 for Philadelphia City Rowing (PCR). After his first year of rowing, he was recruited to the United States Naval Academy for the lightweight men’s team making him the first athlete of PCR to be recruited to Division 1. 

Since 2010, Maurice has won multiple City, State, and National Championships in both the United States and Australia. In the summer of 2015, Maurice went overseas to the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia on a full scholarship and competed on their rowing team where became the first African American to ever represent their school and was the first African American chosen to row at the Australian University Games. Maurice completed a degree in Global Security and Emergency Management with a minor in Criminal Justice and currently works for the Department of Defense. 

When he’s not working, Maurice spends his time at the Potomac Boat Club in Washington, DC where he is an athlete on their high-performance team and is on the Board of Governors. He is also co-founder and Board Member-at-large for a new and rising rowing club, Unity Boat Club.
