We have enjoyed seeing many new faces around the Row New York office this week as our fresh crop of middle school and high school rowers have joined us for the first time. On Wednesday, our middle school novices met their teammates and sat down with Academic Director Melissa Pancoast and Director of Middle School Programs Jennie Trayes to complete Basic Skills Assessments in math and writing, the first stage in our new middle school academic curriculum. Our high school novices (pictured above) joined us on Thursday for their first erg lesson and core strength exercises. Our scouts in Flushing Meadows Corona Park report that Meadow Lake is free of ice, and we expect rosy cheeks and smiles all around when the team gets back on the water this weekend!
