Row New York’s summer para-rowing season got underway this weekend with a special guest: Olympian Garrett Klugh. Garrett was generous enough to share some stories and lead our group through a workout before getting on the water with us. He even provided one of our visually impaired athletes with a private rowing lesson. A great time was had by all on a beautiful day. Thanks, Garrett!

If you or someone you know would like to try para-rowing, find the registration link below. All para-rowing is free and takes place on the calm waters of Meadow Lake at the World’s Fair Boathouse in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Queens — those with cognitive disabilities row on Saturdays from noon to 1:15, and those with physical disabilities row from 1:30 to 3. Gain strength, develop confidence, make new friends, and be a part of New York City’s growing para-rowing community. Sign up here.
