Row New York’s School Day Para-Rowing program takes place each spring and fall, and provides land-based and on-water rowing activities to students with cognitive or physical disabilities. Our para-rowing program began in the fall of 2011, and since then we’ve worked with hundreds of students from NYC’s District 75 schools. Row New York provides all equipment, an experienced coaching staff, and a culminating event each season in which students compete in races on Meadow Lake. Teachers report their students showing improvements not only in fitness but also in focus, balance, and positive engagement with their peers after participating our program. Check out this video to see just how happy our rowers (and RNY coaches!) are at School Day Para!

A big thank you goes out to our partner schools in District 75 and our para-rowing coaches, without whom our School Day Para program wouldn’t be possible! And a special thank you goes to Row New York’s Denise Aquino, School Day Para-rowing Coach and Manhattan Middle School Program Director, who created this video!
