On July 19th, Row New York held an Open House for anyone interested in learning about adaptive rowing. We had 14 athletes brave the heat to come to our Boathouse and learn about rowing! The open house brought out new athletes interested in this sport, as well as a few of our old friends from NYU’s Initiative for Women with Disabilities, who just finished a summer rowing camp with us. Participants of all ages first practiced the basics of rowing on erg machines. They then headed out on to the water in our specialized barges. It was great to see so many enthusiastic participants having a fun time, especially under the blazing sun! Thanks to everyone for coming out, and stay tuned for more open houses, and more opportunities to get on the water with Row New York!
